Attributes of statehood — the symbols of Ukraine

Today, on November 29, Ukraine marks 25 years since the signing of the presidential decree on the introduction of the attributes of Ukrainian statehood.  Presidential Decree No. 1507/99 established that the official symbols of the state are: the Flag (Standard) of the President of Ukraine, the Sign of the President of Ukraine, the Seal of the President of Ukraine, the Mace of the President of Ukraine.

Novyny.LIVE asked people on the streets of the city whether they know the symbols and attributes of Ukrainian statehood.

Symbols and attributes of Ukraine

Most of those surveyed were able to list several symbols and attributes of Ukrainian statehood: embroidery, coat of arms, anthem, flag, and more. The respondents say that everyone should know the symbols of Ukraine, because this is our history, our past without which there can be no future.

"Coat of arms, flag, anthem, viburnum and dove. The symbols of our country must be remembered, because we need to develop Ukraine and know our history, and there is no future without history," the girl emphasizes.

"The national flag, coat of arms, embroidery, trident. Our symbols are our history, nationality, and we are obliged to know it," the interviewed Lviv woman adds.

"Yes, this is the flag, anthem, coat of arms. These symbols are our history, we need to know it and explore it," the woman notes.
