Today, on November 21, Ukraine marks the 10th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity and Freedom — an event that radically changed the history of Ukraine and affected the life of every citizen. This movement became a symbol of the struggle for freedom, human rights, and European future. Maidan became a symbol of solidarity, which is felt even more strongly today. Ukrainians felt their strength and responsibility for the fate of the country.

Novyny.LIVE asked people on the streets of the city whether they participated in the Revolution of Dignity and how these events changed their lives.

Most of those surveyed say that this event became decisive in the modern history of Ukraine, it grew into a large-scale movement for rights, freedom, European choice and complete rejection of Russia. But there are also those who are convinced that the Maidan did not bring anything good to Ukrainians.

"Yes, I participated, and these events changed my life forever, because I can no longer calmly perceive the situation that is happening in Ukraine now, as before the Revolution. I believe that this is a genocide of Ukrainians and the country has many enemies who are undermining it from within," the woman says.

"No, I did not. I am from Kherson, and my husband and I said at the time that this Revolution would not lead to anything good. My husband said that America and Europe would not accept us anyway," the respondent emphasizes.

"I did not participate, but this is a historical event of 2014. Then they changed the "course" from Russian influence to European integration. And I believe that these are positive changes," the man adds.

"It didn't affect anything. What's better? Our sons are dying, and our mothers receive a pension of 3,200 UAH. Can a person survive on that amount of money now? The Revolution of Dignity gave us absolutely nothing," the woman from Lviv says.

"Yes, I did. I made a lot of friends then and realized that Ukraine needed changes for the better, like in Europe," the interviewed woman shared her thoughts.

It should be recalled that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored the memory of Ukrainians who died during the Revolution of Dignity on the Day of Dignity and Freedom.
